Teach your child to use positive self-talk. Phrases such as “I can do this” help keep kids motivated.
Praise your child’s responsible behavior.
Help your child do something for a neighbor in need. Community service teaches kids that they can make a difference.
Talk about your family’s fall routine. Make plans to eat at least one meal a day together.
Talk with your child about the things you did this summer. What are three things you’ll each remember?
Make sure you are signed up to receive communications from the school. If you need help, call the office.
Help your child establish a “study nook” for the new school year.
Will your child need supplies for school? Get a list of what’s needed. Ask your student to look at ads and find the best buys.
Help your child re-establish school year bedtime and wake-up routines.
Kids often tell you as much through behavior as through words. “Listen” to your child’s body language.
Children know their shortcomings. They need you to remind them of
their strengths.
Help your child make plans to achieve unmet summer goals.

A Message to our 2024-2025 Kindergarten Families:
Please don't forget to register your child for Kindergarten. If you have already started an online application, it must be completed and submitted by May 31, 2024. On June 3, we will roll registration over to the new academic year, so if you have NOT started an application yet, please wait until June 3 to start your child's Kindergarten enrollment application. If you have started an application but do not finish and submit it before May 31, 2024, you will have to create a new application. Please be reminded that McKinney-Vento eligibility must be reviewed and reevaluated every school year. Special transportation and other services that may have been provided during the 23-24 school year do not automatically carry over to the next school year (24 25). If your family and or child(ren) are experiencing housing instability and an increased risk of homelessness at the beginning of the 24-25 school year, please contact Sandra Osburn, McKinney-Vento Liaison after July 22, 2024, at 912-283-8656 or sosburn@ware.k12.ga.us. Mrs. Osburn will be glad to help you determine if your family will continue to qualify for McKinney-Vento services for the upcoming school year. Please Note: If you have received special transportation to school through McKinney-Vento services, transportation services will not continue for the 24-25 school year, unless you contact Mrs. Osburn.
