All-state

Eli T. and Hector E., Ware County High School band students, were selected to the Georgia Music Educators All-State Band after auditioning through a 2nd round video submission (due to inclement weather).

Eli is a junior clarinet player and is a participant with the Golden Gator Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Wind Ensemble at Ware County High School.  He has been selected to numerous honor bands throughout high school, including District Honor Band, District Jazz Band, Region Honor Band, and the UGA JanFest Honor Band.  Eli has put in an immense amount of practice and preparation time both at home and after school in the band room, gone through two rounds of auditions going up against over 10,000 band students throughout the entire state of Georgia, and has been selected among the best of the best in the state - making the 11/12 GMEA All-State Band.  Eli was selected as one of only two contra-clarinet players to earn a position in the band!  This event is held in the Athens Classic Center, and consists of both bands and orchestras from middle school, 9/10, and 11/12.  These students will have the opportunity to rehearse with a group of Georgia’s finest high school musicians as well as the top notch clinicians that are lined up to direct the All-State Bands and Orchestras.  Making the All-State Band in high school is seen as the highest individual musical achievement that one can attain.  Congratulations to Eli on his outstanding achievement.  The Ware County Golden Gator Band, Ware County High School, and the city of Waycross can be extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of him!
