Congratulations to David Carroll on his recognition as the January 2024 Classified Golden Achievement Award Winner. While presenting the award, Principal Jeri Ray noted:
"The Classified Golden Achievement Award is being presented to Mr. David Carroll. Mr. Carroll is well deserving because of his dedicated service, positive attitude, and enthusiasm. Although he serves as our 4th grade special education paraprofessional, Mr. Carroll can be found helping in a variety of ways around Wacona. In addition to making his lunch duty an enjoyable time by allowing students to perform solos or to sing happy birthday to that special student, he brings joy to our staff and students by dressing up when needed. For example, earlier this year, he dressed as a pig as we celebrated Farmer Day at the end of our school-wide book study of Charlotte’s Web. In December, he portrayed a fun and enjoyable Grinch during our Christmas sing-along. Mr. Carroll is always willing to help where needed and exudes enthusiasm wherever he goes. He is a positive influence in the lives of our students. He puts forth the effort to build relationships with the students to make them feel valued and important. His positivity and patience make him an important and valued staff member at Wacona. Thank you, Mr. Carroll, for your outstanding efforts and the positive impact you have on our Wacona community."
