MEMORIAL DRIVE HOLDS HOUSE OF HOPE DRIVE

MEMORIAL DRIVE HOLDS HOUSE OF HOPE DRIVE

Memorial Drive Elementary School recently donated hygiene and canned food items to the House of Hope, a local charity that offers emergency assistance to the Waycross community.  During the month of January, students brought in needed items, and the winning homeroom was awarded a pizza party. Bringing in the most items this year was Mrs. Walter's class. Students from her class are shown (l-r), Antwain H., Scott L., Davion J., Mrs. Walters, Bentley A., along with Mrs. Warren, counselor and coordinator of this event, and members of Trinity United Methodist Church and volunteers of the House of Hope.

The Waycross House of Hope, Inc. depends solely on contributions from others. It is staffed by volunteers, many who are members of Trinity United Methodist Church who care deeply for the well-being of people in the community. This past year, the House of Hope provided emergency food assistance to approximately 800 families which made up approximately 2,000 family members.

Mrs. Loni Hines is the principal at Memorial Drive Elementary School.
