Center Elementary Celebrates Black History Month

One month each school year, Center Elementary is responsible for decorating the bulletin board at the Ware County Schools Board Office. This year, our very own art teacher, Kim Smith designed, created, and decorated the board. Tonight the board members will meet and all who attend will walk past this amazing message she has demonstrated through her creative imagination. Her work of art and expression is in the image above. We appreciate the hard work and planning that went into this project!

At Center, our teachers, staff, students, and administrators celebrate each day throughout the month of February "Black History Month" which started in the United States in 1926. The idea to celebrate Black History was conceived by historian Carter G. Woodson who proposed marking a time to honor African Americans and raise awareness of Black History.  Tyler A. Bennett is principal at Center Elementary.
