Fair Bear Writing Competition Winners

Each year, Ware County School District participates in the Fair Bear Writing Contest. This year's story theme was "Fair Bear Launches Into Space". Students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade were given a writing prompt and asked to expand the story in a creative way. They were allowed to write 200-500 words. District coordinator of the Fair Bear Writing Competition, Mrs. Paige Coker, was quoted as saying, "I am floored by the caliber of writing evident in the Fair Bear competition entries this year. The word choice was broad and descriptive, and students were very creative/imaginative in their writing. This was, by far, the most difficult Fair Bear contest to judge to date. Kudos to all of the writing teachers helping these young authors hone their voice!"

We are very excited to announce that we had two district winners at Center Elementary School, Fourth Grade student, Raylee A., in Ms. Jenna Corley's class and Fifth Grade student, Alan L. in Mrs. Shirley Nettles' classroom. Congratulations once again on this outstanding achievement! We hope that one day these two students will use their writing talents to write other literature that we all can enjoy for ages to come!  Mr. Tyler A. Bennett is the principal at Center Elementary School.
