Amanda Dixon, a kindergarten teacher at Center Elementary, is the Certified Golden Achievement Award Winner for February 2025. Principal Le Var Garner shared the following when presenting her award:
“Amanda Dixon has shown remarkable adaptability and dedication in her first year as a teacher. Transitioning into the teaching profession can be challenging, yet Amanda has handled it with grace, resilience, and a strong commitment to her students. She has quickly established a positive and engaging learning environment, building meaningful connections with her students while maintaining high expectations for their success. Her ability to adapt to new challenges and continuously grow as an educator demonstrates her passion for teaching and her unwavering dedication to her students. Beyond the classroom, Amanda has gone above and beyond to show her students that she truly cares about their well-being.
“When a hurricane disrupted the school schedule and kept students at home, she took it upon herself to visit them and deliver treat bags. This thoughtful act not only lifted the spirits of her students during a difficult time but also reinforced the strong bond she has built with them. Her willingness to go the extra mile highlights her compassionate nature and dedication to making a lasting impact on her students’ lives. Amanda Dixon’s first year as a teacher is a testament to her resilience, kindness, and passion for education. She has embraced every challenge with determination and has proven herself to be a caring and committed educator. Her students are lucky to have her, and her future in teaching is undoubtedly bright.”
