November 11 - Center Elementary School
In a heartfelt tribute on Veterans Day, Center Elementary School staff and students came together to honor the men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces. Among those celebrated were veterans from the Center Elementary family, adding a deeply personal touch to the day’s events.
The festivities began with students lining the hallways, proudly holding handmade signs representing each military branch. As patriotic music filled the building, veterans walked the hallways in a parade, greeted by students and staff waving USA flags generously donated by the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). Smiles, applause, and heartfelt appreciation met the veterans at every turn.
“Our students were incredibly excited to show their appreciation. Moments like these unite our community and remind us of the importance of honoring those who have sacrificed for our country," Principal Le Var Garner noted.
The PTO further contributed by setting up a photo area with a flag backdrop where veterans and families could capture the special moment. After the parade, guests gathered to enjoy coffee and donuts, reminiscing about their military time and sharing memories with one another.
It was a morning full of warmth, appreciation, and reflection for all who attended. Veterans shared that they felt deeply touched by the outpouring of gratitude from the Center Elementary community, making this Veterans Day a memorable occasion for all involved.
