The Ware County wrestling team competed in the 18th Annual Yellow Jacket Duals, the 10th Annual JV Stinger Slam, and the 2ndt annual Queen of the Nest Girls tournament at Jeff Davis High School December 6th and 7th. 

The varsity Gators went 8 – 0, taking first place out of the 21 teams in the duals tournament. Teams competing in addition to Ware were Bacon, Benedictine Military, Brantley, Dade, Dodge, East Laurens, Effingham, Harlem, Irwin, Jeff Davis, Lamar, Montgomery, Oglethorpe, Savannah Christian, Screven, Statesboro, Swainsboro, Vidalia, Wayne, West Laurens. 

This brings the Gators to 21-2 for duals on the season.  

The Gators were in Pool C with Savannah Christian, Wayne Co., Statesboro, and Vidalia.  Each team wrestled all of the teams in their pool and one crossover match to set the seeds for the bracket.  The Gators wrestled their Crossover match in the first round against region rivals Benedictine beating the Cadets  48 - 35.  The Gators swept their pool as follows: Win vs. Statesboro (58-23), Win vs. Savannah Christian (78-6), Win vs. Vidalia (66-12), Win vs. Wayne Co (39-36). This put the Gators in the Gold bracket competing for the tournament championship.  In the Championship bracket the Gators defeated Brantley County (54-29 in the quarterfinals, then Benedictine Military School (66-17) in the semis and Oglethorpe County 51-18 in the finals.
