The Ware County Lady Gators Competition Cheer Team had an outstanding 2024 season.
Season Highlights
The Lady Gators kicked off their season with a strong start, securing first place at the Vidalia competition on October 12th with an impressive score of 86. This victory set the tone for what would be a remarkable season. Building on their initial success, the team continued to dominate, claiming another first-place finish at the Battle in the Boro in Statesboro on October 19th. Despite a slightly lower score of 76.5, the Lady Gators still secured the win.
Mid-Season Performance
The Lady Gators’ momentum carried into their next competition at the Blueberry Classic in Bacon County on October 24th. Here, they secured a strong second-place finish with a score of 83.0. Bouncing back from their second-place finish, the Lady Gators returned to their winning ways at the Falcon Frenzy in East Laurens on October 26th. They clinched first place with a score of 84.5.
Peak Performance and Regional Success
The Lady Gators reached their peak performance at the Sue Youngblood Last Chance Cheer Classic in Worth County on November 2nd. They dominated the competition, securing first place with an outstanding score of 95.0 - their highest of the season.
Their hard work and dedication culminated in a great performance at the Region 1-AAAA competition held at Walnut Grove High School on November 9th. The Lady Gators not only won their region but also qualified for the state competition with a 10th place overall finish and a score of 84.5.
State Competition
The season concluded with the GHSA State Competition in Macon on November 15th. Despite facing tough competition from across the state, the Lady Gators put forth a solid performance, finishing 11th overall with a score of 79.5.
Gameday Competition
The 2024 season for the Lady Gator Cheer team is not over as on Saturday 11/23/2024, the Gameday Competition squad will be headed to Thomasville to compete. The Lady Gators will then travel to the Columbus Civic Center for the GHSA State Gameday Cheer competition.
