Ware County Athletics

The Ware County cross country teams competed in the 3^rd Annual Blue Tide Run hosted by Long Co. HS on Thursday 9/19/24.  The Gators placed 7^th out of 16 scoring teams and the Lady Gators placed 13^th out of 16 scoring teams.  There was a total of 121 runners in the Girls Varsity race and 148 runners in the Boys Varsity race.  Scoring for the Lady Gators were Destiny Mendoza (11^th grade) placing 22^nd with a time of 25:04, Karla Calvillo (10^th grade) placing 45^th with a time of 26:38, Olivia Sanders (12^th grade) placing 78^th with a time of 28:50, Madison Donlon (11^th grade) placing 89^th with a time of 30:18, and Ta’Quanna Keith-Johnson (11^th grade) placing 111^th with a time of 36:02.  Scoring for the Gators were Caleb Wise (11^th grade) placing 11^th with a time of 18:42, Josh Smith (10^th grade) placing 23^rd with a time of 19:26, Brayten Hood (9^th grade) placing 45^th with a time of 20:19, Da’Marion Zanders (11^th grade) placing 72^nd with a time of 21:03, and Brock Payne (9^th grade) placing 78^th with a time of 21:27.  The Ware Co. runners will be travelling to TiftArea Academy on Saturday 9/21/24 to compete in the Panther Prowl.  The first race will begin at 8:30 AM.  For complete race results visit: https://ga.milesplit.com/meets/603501-blue-tide-run-3rd-annual-2024/results  For team news and pictures visit www.wchscc.blogspot.com
