The Ware County cross country teams participates in the 2nd annual Blake Smith Invitational hosted by Coffee County HS on Saturday 9/7/24. It was a rainy day on the course but the Gators placed 3rd overall in the field and the Lady Gators placed 2nd overall in the Girls 5k. Placing top 5 for the Gators were Caleb Wise (11th grade) placing 6th with a time of 18:27, Josh Smith (10th grade) placing 14th with a time of 19:10, Brayten Hood (9th grade) placing 21st with a time of 19:46, Da' Marion Zanders (11th grade) placing 24th with a time of 19:49, and Brock Payne (9th grade) placing 32nd with a time of 20:12. Scoring for the Lady Gators were Miracle Patterson (11th grade) placing 17th with a time of 27:00, Olivia Sanders (12th grade) placing 19th with a time of 27:09, Kiyoko Ward (9th grade) placing 29th with a time of 28:13, Madison Donlon (11th grade) placing 31st with a time of 28:32, and Kali Patten (9th grade) placing 40th with a time of 30:39. There were a total of 106 runners in the Boys 5k and 64 runners in the Girls 5k.
