Another Huge Region 1 - 5A Basketball Matchup Friday 1/19/2024
Friday night is another huge one for all of the Gator Basketball Teams as Region 1 - 5A begins to take shape. The Gators will be on the road to take on the Jenkins Warriors for four games. The schedule for today will be as follows will be as follows:
-JV Girls at 4:00 PM
-JV Boys at 5:00 PM
-Varsity Girls at 6:00 PM
-Varsity Boys at 7:30 PM
The game has huge region 1 - 5A implications as currently, the Lady Warriors are 6 - 8 overall and 0 - 4 in region 1 - 5A.. The Lady Gators are currently sitting at 13 - 5 over all and 3 - 1 in Region 1 - 5A. The Lady Gators are looking to maintain and improve their 51.2 points per game average while holding the Warriors to their 33.4. points per game average. The Lady Gators are hoping to improve the three game winning streak to a four game streak.
The Varsity Boys will also take on the Warriors from Jenkins High who are sitting at 8 - 8 overall and 1 - 3 in Region 1 - 5A. The Gators' record stands at 11 - 7 overall and 3 - 1 in Region 1 - 5A with the loss coming from Bradwell Institute by a score of 70 - 50. The Gators average 65.4 points per game while the Warriors average 56.6 points per game. The Gators are also hoping to improve the three game winning streak to a four game streak..
