JV Football Over Glynn Academy 37 - 0

The Ware County Junior Varsity Gators traveled to the Golden Isles to take on Glynn Academy Red Terrors. The Blackwater Defense recorded their second shutout on the season and recorded a safety in route to a 37-0 victory. Slade Sweat led the offense with two touchdown passes to Donnie Patterson and Dedric Jackson. Sweat added another touchdown on the ground with his legs. The backfield consisting of Jamir Boyd, Trey Orange, and Jackson Stewart ran hard all day, with Boyd and Orange adding a touchdown each on the ground. The JV Gators move to 4-0 on the year and host the Coffee Trojans next Thursday at Memorial Stadium. We need a huge crowd next Thursday to create an electric atmosphere for our Gators. Please come out and support these young men.  Game time is set for 5:00 PM at Memorial Stadium.  Tickets will be on sell at the gate as well as GoFan.co for $7.00.

9th Grade Football Over Glynn Academy 48 - 7

The Ware County Gators ninth grade football team defeated the Glynn Academy Red Terrors tonight by a score of 48-7. It was a dominant performance, from start to finish, as the Gators raced out to a 41-0 lead at halftime. Isaiah White had a huge game, throwing for 350 yards and 4 touchdowns. Ja’Londi O’Hara had another great game with 5 catches, 3 going for touchdowns. Semajh Turner was fantastic with his blocking all night, but also caught a long touchdown and a two-point conversion. Elan Jones, Maki Howard, Camp Hopkins and Lojuan Blue also had catches, with Jones’ going for a touchdown. KJ Junious also ran for two touchdowns. Credit has to be given to Kobe Lee, Bryson McNamee, Lucas Howard, Kentavious Hall and Kydarien Bennett on the offensive line for their amazing blocking all night.

The Gator defense pitched a shut-out for 3 and a half quarters before giving up a late touchdown with the mercy rule clock in effect. Jamarion Keyhea finished with 11 tackles, 4 for a loss. Evan Thomas finished with 7 tackles and 2 for a loss. Gunner Fore finished with 6 tackles and 4 for a loss. The defensive line made a living in the terror backfield all evening. The terrors only attempted 3 passes the entire game, one of them connecting for late touchdown. The ninth grade Gators next game is next Thursday, in Douglas, against Coffee County.  Game time is set for 5:00 PM at Jardine Stadium in Douglas.
