Both JV and 9th Grade Football Teams came away with wins today Vs. Camden County.
The JV Team hosted Camden County at Memorial Stadium and came away with the victory by a score of 21 - 14 while the 9th Grade traveled to Camden and came away with the victory as well by a score of 36 - 34. 9th Grade Story Below:
The Ware County 9th grade Gators won a hard fought battle tonight against the Camden County Wildcats 36-34. The Gators came out of the gates on fire with back to back long touchdown completions from Isaiah White to Ja’Londi O’Hara on consecutive possessions. On the game, O’Hara had close to 200 yards receiving with three touchdowns and another touchdown on a kickoff return. Overall, the offense played extremely well, only punting one time the entire game.
Defensively, the Gators fought hard the entire game, but struggled to stop the Camden rushing attack. Defensive lineman Charles Sams and linebacker Jamarion Keyhea both played well, combining for 15 tackles, with three coming for a loss. Although Camden enforced their will early, with the game on the line, the Gators came up with a huge stop, capped off with a pass breakup by Davion Jones. Lojaun Blue had a defensive TD on a scoop and score.
Next Week, the 9th grade team will be off and the JV will host Wayne County at Memorial Stadium on Thursday at 5:00 PM. Tickets will be on sale at the gate for $7.00.
