Game Goes Down To The Wire As Ware County Varsity Gators Loses To Camden County On Final Play

A walk-off left Ware County Varsity Gators on the wrong end of an 11-10 defeat to Camden County on Tuesday. The game was tied at ten with Camden County batting in the bottom of the seventh when Jalyn Nixon singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Ware County Varsity Gators collected 14 hits and Camden County had 17 in the high-scoring affair. Ware County Varsity Gators took an early lead in the second inning. Lexi Howell grounded out, scoring one run.
Ware County Varsity Gators put up five runs in the second inning. Howell, Mackenzi Trull, Amberley Padgett, and Molly Smith all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Camden scored five runs in the third inning. Camden big bats were led by Chloe Loper, Addison Spencer, and Khrysta Jordan, who all drove in runs.
Chelsey Riggins got the start for Camden County. The ace lasted two innings, allowing eight hits and six runs.
Kayleigh LeMay was on the rubber for Ware County Varsity Gators. LeMay allowed four hits and five runs over two and two-thirds innings. Reagan Middleton threw three and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
Ware County Varsity Gators collected 14 hits. Aniston Delk, Padgett, Josie Augustine, Raygan Dixon, and Trull each managed multiple hits for Ware County Varsity Gators. Padgett and Delk all had three hits to lead Ware County Varsity Gators.
Camden tallied 17 hits in the game. Spencer, Olivia Williams, Lexie Poole, Zoe Kohlmeier, Nixon, Miah Bryant, and Jordan all had multiple hits for Camden County. Spencer led Camden County with three hits in four at bats.

Next Up:  Thursday 8/24/2023 The Lady Gators travel to Greenbrier to open up region play in a double header.  Game one first pitch is set for 4:00 PM while game two is set for 6:00 PM.
