Brantley JV Squeaks By Lady Gators JV In Pitchers Duel
Both teams were strong in the circle on Monday, but Brantley Co. JV was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-0 victory over Ware County Junior Varsity girls. Kayleigh LeMay started the game for Ware County Junior Varsity Gators and recorded 15 outs.
Ware lost despite out-hitting Brantley five to one. Kara Coleman led Ware JV with two hits.
Brantley got on the board in the top of the first inning after an error scored one run, and Walker singled, scoring two runs.
LeMay opened the game for Ware. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and three runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking one.
Walker went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Brantley JV in hits. Brantley didn't commit a single error in the field. Hall had the most chances in the field with two.
Ware County Varsity Lady Gators Defeated By Brantley County Varsity Lady Herons
Ware County Varsity Gators fell to Brantley County Varsity Lady Herons 4-3 on Monday.
A tag up by Jayden Lewis put Brantley County Varsity Lady Herons on the board in the top of the first.
A single by Amberley Padgett gave Ware the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the fourth.
Brooklyn Wildes singled, which helped the Lady Herons tie the game at two in the top of the seventh.
In the top of the eighth, Brantley broke up the tie when Ella Raulerson singled, scoring one run. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 4-2.
Freshman Reagan Middleton stepped in the circle first for the Lady Gators. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and three runs (one earned) over eight innings, striking out five and walking one.
C Turner opened the game for Brantley County Varsity Lady Herons. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out one and walking two.
Aniston Delk, Middleton, Molly Smith, Rayan Dixon, Mackenzi Trull, and Padgett each collected one hit for Ware County Varsity Gators. Padgett led Ware County Varsity Gators with two runs batted in. She went 1-for-3 on the day. Ware County Varsity Lady Gators turned one double play in the game.
Raulerson led Brantley with three hits in four at bats. Kelsie Bishop, Raulerson, and Wildes each drove in one run for Brantley County Varsity Lady Herons.
Our Ware County Varsity Lady Gators will travel to Camden County for their next game on Tuesday.
