The Lady Gator Varsity Softball team fell behind early and could not come back in an 8 - 3 loss to Jeff - Davis on Thursday. Jeff - Davis took the lead on a groundout in the first inning. Ware tallied three runs in the sixth inning. The Gators big inning was driven by a single by Cuylea Martin and a home run by Mckenzi Trull. Jeff - Davis scored four runs in the sixth inning. Regan Middleton was in the pitcher's circle for Ware. Middleton surrounded eight runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out two. The Gators tallied one homerun on the day. Trull went for the long ball in the sixth inning. Amberley Padgett, Anniston Delk, Trull, Martin, Middleton, and Raygan Dixon each collected one hit to lead Ware in offensive stats.
Next up for the Lady Gators will be a short trip to Brantley County on Thursday 8/7/2023. First pitch for the JV squad is set for 4:00 PM while the first pitch for the Varsity squad is set for 6:00 PM.
