Mivante S., a senior at Ware County High School, has received the Student of Excellence award which recognizes exceptional students throughout the State of Georgia. Mivante has exhibited outstanding leadership skills with his peers and in the Gator Coffee Shop, where he is the barista. An excellent artist who loves to draw, Mivante will be participating in Project Search next year at Memorial Satilla Hospital.
Pictured at the presentation ceremony is (L-R) Superintendent Bert Smith, Director of Special Education Mandy Harper, Teacher Jason Lanier, proud mother Serena Jewell, Mivante S., GLRS Director Roxie Tumlin, and WCHS Assistant Principal and Special Education Coordinator Justin Jury.
The Department of Education promotes the Student of Excellence recognition to all local school districts each year. This recognition is presented through our Georgia Learning Resource Systems (GLRS) in each region.
Congratulations, Mivante!
