Congratulations to Vicki Parker, the certified Golden Achievement Award winner for May 2021. Upon presenting the award, her principal, David Hitt, said, "Mrs. Parker teaches 6th grade gifted and is our ELA Department Chair. This year Mrs. Parker took on the additional responsibilities of being one of our three Google Classroom Technology Mentors as well as leading our Digital Learning Team that we formed last spring during the lockdown. This sounds like a lot of work, and it is. Mrs. Parker excelled in every aspect of these jobs throughout the year. Her leadership of our digital learning team ensured that we were prepared to deliver quality professional learning to our entire staff during pre-planning in an area that we had little or no experience in at the beginning. Her team delivered for us, and our teachers were well-prepared in the digital world when instruction started on August 17th. The same dedication and initiative she demonstrated in this area is representative of her efforts in all the roles she takes on: well-planned, well-resourced and well-executed. Mrs. Parker is a go-to leader in our building, is well-respected by all staff and faculty, and is a valuable teacher-leader in our building. There is no doubt that this month’s recipient of the Golden Achievement Award, Mrs. Vicki Parker, truly exemplifies what it means to be a Waycross Middle Bulldog. She is a very caring person who loves her job and our school community and continues to be a key asset to the Waycross Middle family."
Congratulations, Mrs. Parker!
