The Ware County High School robotics teams including teams ‘Swampbotics’ 2105A, 2105B, & 2105C competed Saturday December 5 at the Irwin County Vex Qualifier tournament. This was the first face-to-face tournament of the 2020-2021 season due to Covid-19 restrictions.
After completing six matches each from 9:00 am until 2:00 PM, team 2105C led by freshman Maddox G. was 1st seed going into the finals, and Team 2105A led by senior Carter B. was 3rd seed going into the finals. (see pic) Team 2105A advanced to the semi-finals rounds, and Team 2105C made it to the tournament final match where they lost their match.
Team 2105B led by senior Adam S. (Adam S., Brynn T., and Conner C.) won the Tournament’s Design Award trophy. (see Pic) Throughout the competition season, the teams document the building of their robots and the engineering design considerations, drawings, calculations, and programming that went into their robot design. The Design Award is a judged award that is presented to the team with the best engineering design notebook and judge’s interview presentation. Team 2105B worked many hours on their engineering design notebook. Congratulations to team 2105B for a job well done!
