The Ware County Board of Education will hold a called meeting on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 7:15pm. Board of Education meetings have been closed to the public since March 26th and remain closed due to social distancing guidelines and the Governor's executive order on gatherings. It is not known if the topic of masks will be discussed at this meeting or the September Work Session and Regular Meeting. In the event that masks are discussed, we are offering anyone who wishes to address the board the opportunity to submit a request, available at https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/…/Request_to_Address_the…, by 12:00pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 to the Superintendent's Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Sherry McCarty. (This is a change from the information provided on the form and is a one-time exception for this particular called meeting. Requests to address the Board at future meetings must be submitted by 12:00pm on the Tuesday prior to the Monday Work Session.)
According to Policy BCBI (available at https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/…/uploaded_file/395260/B…), in cases where several citizens wish to address the same topic or issue, the group must designate a spokesperson. One citizen will be permitted to speak for masks and the other against masks from the pool of applications received. The citizenry who submit an application will appoint each side's spokesperson.
