Ware County Board of Education’s Current Position on HB 581
Citizens of Waycross and Ware County who qualify can apply for a local homestead exemption, providing tax relief to homeowners, while also supporting essential school funding. Those who already have the exemption will continue to receive the benefits, as long as they remain eligible. Therefore, opting out of HB581 would not have a negative financial impact on homeowners with homestead exemption.
