Ware County Schools is excited to announce the selection of four outstanding 8th-grade students as this year’s Georgia REACH Scholars. These students include three from Waycross Middle School and one from Ware County Middle School:
AnMarie M., Waycross Middle School
Tiana D., Waycross Middle School
Airanna D., Waycross Middle School
Alivia S., Ware County Middle School
These scholars join 25 other Ware County students previously recognized through this prestigious program. The Georgia REACH (Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen) Scholarship Program, launched in 2012, is designed to support students with demonstrated potential for success in higher education.
Each REACH Scholar will receive a $10,000 scholarship to be applied toward tuition and expenses at a Georgia university, college, or technical school. As part of the program, students commit to maintaining high academic performance, meeting attendance requirements, and demonstrating good behavior as they progress through high school. Failure to meet these criteria could result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
The REACH program not only provides financial assistance but also pairs scholars with mentors and coaches to guide them on their educational journey. This support, coupled with their own determination, sets students up for success in their post-secondary studies and beyond.
“This program is truly life-changing,” said Dr. Lynn Barber, Superintendent of Ware County Schools. “These students have demonstrated resilience, hard work, and a commitment to their futures. We are proud to support them as they continue on their paths toward achieving their dreams.”
Ware County Schools congratulates these four remarkable scholars and looks forward to celebrating their continued success!
