Coach Jamie Ammons is the September 2023 Certified Golden Achievement Award Winner.
Upon presenting the award, Principal Dr. Tyrone Kellogg noted, “Coach Ammons is the head baseball coach at WCHS, where he also serves as a PE coach and the PE department head. He has completed multiple grants to improve the PE and health department.
“Coach Ammons is always positive and willing to do anything asked of him, often volunteering to help the administrators with their needs. He recently filled in for an Algebra 2 teacher for a month while she was on maternity leave.
“He is always open to new ideas that will improve his program and our students’ academic and athletic experiences. If Coach Ammons is in charge of an activity, you can guarantee it will be done right. He has an eye for problems and a knack for solutions, and this perceptiveness is a tremendous asset to Ware County High.
“We are happy to honor Coach Jamie Ammons for his contributions to the school community.”
